Ron Rosa's Polpo Restaurant and Saloon
Polpo Restaurant and Saloon opened in Greenwich, Ct in October of 2000. The owner, Ron Rosa, is from Calabria, Italy, and has brought all of his family recipes to Polpo. In addition to regional dishes from Tuscany and Milano.
Ron grew up in Brooklyn, New York where he studied engineering. His first restaurant experience was a manager at the one and only Copacabana in Manhattan, and then became maitre d’ at the El Morocco. From there he decided he wanted to become an actor and moved to California. Years later he traveled back to New York City and opened several restaurants. Ron became famous for Campagnola on the Upper East Side, and Ecco in Tribeca.
Ron then moved to Connecticut to start a family with wife Dominique. They had two children Andrew and Isabelle Rosa where they still reside.
Polpo is very fortunate to have the professional staff they have, some have been with Ron for over 40 years. Polpo is still going strong and is known as one of the best Italian restaurants in the TriState area. It has become a fixture in Greenwich and is soon to be celebrating its 20th anniversary.
